WHY IT’S SO GOOD

I’m constantly working on innovative projects. Recently, for example, my team integrated future technologies that will be used for in-flight entertainment; the most exciting part was interacting and experimenting with new, upcoming technologies like Oculus and Google Glass. These projects were finalists for a Crystal Cabin Award at Aircraft Interiors and Best Achievement in Technology Award at the APEX Expo. As a designer, the project helped me sharpen my design and creative-thinking skills, as well as my presentation and networking abilities.

WORKING HERE

One of the greatest lessons I’ve learnt is that teamwork – and adaptability – in the industry is crucial to progress. Most of my projects involve collaborating with vendors to ask for product details, as well as managers in the electrical and mechanical departments, before feeding back to my team to gather their advice. Communication skills are so important when working in a team dynamic, especially when dealing with tight deadlines.

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

I’ve grown personally and technically while working here. There’s a genuine emphasis on ensuring a good balance between the work and social environment. People are friendly and easy to talk to, plus there are lots of helpful supervisors and managers who are constantly pushing and encouraging their employees.

LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES

Because Thales is a global company and participates in trade shows all over the world, there can be huge opportunities for domestic and international travel.
